Daniel Oledzki

Retail Storyteller

Daniel is a creative commercial specialist, with an eye for detail, passion for history and a flair for storytelling. He has almost 10 years experience working in museums, charitable organisations, high street retail, purchasing, product development, and commercial management.

With a background as a mixed media artist, he also brings a range of applicable creative problem solving skills to compliment his aptitude for project leadership and business development. He wants to help the arts, culture, and heritage sectors do business better, by being more ethical, sustainable, and community oriented, while improving profit margins and customer service.

Daniel skillfully creates immersive and engaging retail experiences, even on a small budget, through physically transforming spaces to be an extension of the organisation's ethos and narrative. Daniel has achieved this by creating ways to take advantage of existing assets, developing branded ranges that fit the theme, curating new relationships with local suppliers, and commissioning bespoke designs from local artists.

Most recently, designing, building, and managing the award nominated Old Op Apothecary Shop at the Old Operating Theatre Museum in London.

Hoxton Street Monster Supplies

I love that entering this shop feels like entering another world. It is truly an immersive retail experience. Their creative and playful approach is evident and effective at every level, even in the smallest of details, which just makes you want to keep exploring, whether in store or online.

The staff and service is also top tier, with everyone clearly having fun playing their part, which always adds to the experience. Plus, all their profits go to supporting the Ministry of Stories, a creative writing and mentoring charity for young humans - what’s not to like?!
